Notebooks, Laptops what’s the diffrence?
A standard notebook has features like ; 4-5 hour battery life, it’s ultralight, has no internal floppy drive, no internal DVD or CD system, minimal graphics subsystem, very thin, it has an integrated modem and network connection. Also the Notebook has the smallest possible keyboard that retains functionality, and they don’t use a lot of power. Bottom-line is thenotebook computer was designed to provide mobile computing for people who like to work on the go. but still offer less functionality than the laptop. However, portability comes with a price. Notebooks can become very expensive depending on the power and capacity you desire.
The Laptop Computer is just what the name says. It was designed to sit on your lap, some are quite large and usually loaded down with features. It is normally 14″ to 17″ (wide-screen) TFT screen, has the built in DVD-ROM or DVD-RW drive, big full featured keyboard, 3 hour + battery life, upgradeable, has an integrated modem, network, blue-tooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. So as you can see the notebook is just about the opposite of the laptop. Notebooks offer reasonable power and portability, laptops are designed to replace the desktop PC for people who like to work from home or office with all the features and power of the desktop PC. Hopefully this article helps with some of the confusion between the two. But as time and technology moves on, it will be much more difficult to tell.
